Envenomist is the side project of David Reed of Luasa Raelon fame. However, you will find that the sound doesn't differ much so I wonder why this is released under a separate name. Either way this is some more great synthy dark ambient/industrial that is sure to satiate your palate especially if your craving something salty, because Envenomist dives into the deep dark blue for this release.
Pretty much all the tracks consist of moving harmonies and each consist of around one or two synth pads. It is the way these elements are constructed where Envenomist's strong points are. With the synth pads he creates repetitive textures of rusty layers scrape against each other underneath the frothing melodies.
This is a mostly minimalist endeavor that is overall pretty subtle. There's not a lot that really stands out but it's clear that this was intended. There's a certain quality that I really enjoy about only using a select group of sounds here and Envenomist really pulls it off quite well. If you are unfamiliar about his work, it is most easily compared to the minimalist drones of Angel of Decay.
Nothing mind blowing here but definitely a solid work with some creepy industrial ambient that shouldn't be overlooked by fans of this style. Good work.
