Here is the 6th installment of the Kassette Kvlt series where noise artists swear an oath of anonymity for the sake of the pure love of noise. Not a bad idea, but the last installment left me a little dissapointed and this follows suit with a weaker display of subdued synth drone/noise.
Side A is weaker with some half-assed synth noise, sometimes swelling up and uncovering some weaker sounds. Mostly just a low boring rumble with some subtle whispers placed on top and other quiet elements the side makes for a snoozer. The elements that do stick out leave a bad taste in my mouth, like the musical filtering forming some cheesy scales about ¾ of the way through.
Side B fares much better here with some pulsating and alternating hums. It's a bit more abstract and drony without the duller elements of the first track. It's also a bit more plain and unchanging but since the atmosphere feel much more solid it makes more sense to me. The track is pretty much unchanging throughout with the exception of some interesting panning there isn't much here that interests me. I guess this is the minimalist Kassette Kvlt or something. I'm also noticing that the tape seems to be quite a bit shorter then some of the other volumes in this series.
Unfortunately this shows a drop in quality from the last installment of the series and it makes me wonder what kind of quality control Earth.Space.Noise is putting on these. I was hoping the series would continue to be improved, it seems like it was heading in the right direction on a few of the releases but these last 2 are beginning to dash my hopes. I'm a bit tensed and apprehensive about what will come next, but I'll keep my faith as best I can.
