Here’s a release from the esoteric New York city based outfit Kama Rupa. This digipak is beautifully packaged with iconic design and simple text layout that makes for a professional presentation.<\/p>\n

Oddly enough there is a tracklist of 5 different songs listed on the back but the audio is presented all in one track on the disc with obvious movements showing each individual passage.<\/p>\n

The style here is intimate and sordid which is what makes Kama Rupa so special. Spanning dark ambient, death industrial, sound collage and even meandering into neo-classical territory within the span of less than half an hour the collective has crafted a dark and engaging journey that comes across as something quite unique. :Kama:Kontra:Kontrol: is the perfect listen for a fireside evening in a snowstorm with a fine glass of wine.<\/p>\n

Samples and spoken word are tactfully integrated into the layered atmospheres which prevail for several minutes each before being led into a foray of death industrial interludes. The styles alternate more or less for the entire 24 minute duration.<\/p>\n

:Kama:Kontra:Kontrol: is an excellent disc and a great introduction to the project. This is some original and top-notch dark music here and it is highly recommended for any fan of the genre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
