2009 Northeast Noise and Power Electronics Festival II

4 February 2010 xdementia No Comment

The Northeast Noise and Power Electronics Festival II took place in Boston on Nov. 6th, 7th, and 8th featuring peformance by 27 artists spanning over 3 days. The event was organized by Lascivious Aesthetics and Existence Establishment with lots of help from local Bostonians involved in the scene. The first night occured at Jaques Cabaret, a bar in Boston’s historic South End which features a tranny show and an underground performance area. The last two nights were hosted by O’Briens Pub in Allston, a small venue and bar usually hosting metal and punk shows.

The fest was a relative success with countless performances which climaxed on the last night with a brutal assault from Philip Best’s solo project Consumer Electronics featuring Mark Solotroff of Bloodyminded on synths. Overall it was 3 sold out shows of pure negativity, only 3 people ending up in the hospital and one unrelated fatal stabbing occuring a few blocks away.
