Derek Holzer (1972) is an American sound artist living in Berlin, whose current interests include DIY analog electronics, sound art, field recording and the meeting points of electroacoustic, noise, improv and extreme music. He has played live experimental sound, as well as taught workshops in Pure Data and electronics, across Europe, North America, Brazil and New Zealand.

Koufar meaning “Those that deny God” in arabic, is a Right Wing Lebanese Maronite Nationalistic Power Electronics act. Taking inspiration from witnessing first hand the war between Hezbollah and Israel in 2006, this project is rooted in real life experiences as well as familial and cultural ties. Calling forth to the Maronites of Lebanon, Koufar calls upon them to rise up and destroy those that attempt to steal a country that isn’t theirs. The Existence Establishment Web Launch show/party is to celebrate the launch of the new EE website and present a varied bill of electronic experimental, noise, industrial, ambient, and drone music to Boston. From the shut down of Blood Ties WebZine in December of 2008 Existence Establishment has focused on completeing releases (Might is Blight CD, Exposing the Ribcage CDR) recording new material for Xiphoid Dementia and sponsoring our first U.S. tour (Xiphoid Dementia, Zerfallt, Waterdogs in March of ’09). The Northeast Noise and Power Electronics Festival II took place in Boston on Nov. 6th, 7th, and 8th featuring peformance by 27 artists spanning over 3 days. The event was organized by Lascivious Aesthetics and Existence Establishment with lots of help from local Bostonians involved in the scene. The first night occured at Jaques Cabaret, a bar in Boston’s historic South End which features a tranny show and an underground performance area.
